Competency Based Training enables three critical outcomes:

1. Individual training recommendations to maximize skills while minimizing resource use,
2. Programmatic assessments determining where training programs perform well or require modification, and
3. An Accession-to-Retirement Competency Profile that more accurately tracks individual operational readiness and provides data for refining accession and aircraft selection algorithms. The success in USAF pilot training can be copied for any other technical military career field.
