Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Armendariz
Lieutenant Commander Nick “Terror” Armendariz currently serves as a US Navy Aerospace Experimental Psychologist (AEP). He is a Human Factors instructor at the Naval School of Aviation Safety where he can combine his background as an aviator and a scientist to facilitate learning in the areas of human performance, psychology, and human factors.
LCDR Armendariz amassed more than 1000 hours as a Naval Flight Officer in the EA-6B Prowler and served in the US Marine Corps for nearly 12 years prior to obtaining his Ph.D. in Modeling and Simulation from the University of Central Florida, prior to returning to full time active-duty service as an AEP in the Navy.
LCDR has always been focused on training and education since serving as a secondary school teacher, to being an instructor in the squadron, and a schoolhouse instructor currently. His research interests surround human cognitive performance and improvements to learning and safety cultures within aviation.
LCDR Armendariz also holds a B.S. in Agricultural Education, and a master’s degree in education – both from North Carolina State University.
