A former Royal Navy Officer of 24 Years he was a Fighter Controller, Principal Warfare Officer, Air Warfare Officer and Commanding Officer. Operational Tours included the Middle East, Red Sea and Mediterranean. He served in Shore and Sea appointments with a focus on synthetic training, warfare development and air warfare. He also served for 2 years on exchange with the French Navy. He speaks English, French and elementary German and holds an MBA in organisational learning and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He now works for BAE as Solution lead in Operational training.
