Professor Salman Nazir is a distinguished academic and researcher at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), serving as a Professor in the Department of Maritime Operations. He is the Scientific Leader of the Centre of Excellence in Maritime Simulator Training and Assessment (COAST), Head of the Training and Assessment Research Group (TARG), and an Adjunct Professor at Nord University. His research focuses on Human Factors, Training Methods, Virtual Reality Training Simulators, Performance Assessment, Learning Processes, Complex Socio-technical Systems, Safety, Crisis Management, and Situational Awareness.
He has authored or co-authored over 120 peer-reviewed scientific articles, conference proceedings, and book chapters in international journals and conferences.
