What role is there for AI in generating trusted competency scores from biosignals in team training?

This session will explore the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing AI in the generation and automation of competency scores in team training settings. It discusses the need for validation, explainable AI, and how these efforts are critical to properly mapping signal data (from eye tracking, voice, EEG) to established instructor-centred methods of scoring competencies. How much validation do we need to trust metrics from sensor technologies?  What is trust in terms of training and team readiness data? Will AI see us move close to fully autonomous training simulations, or will the instructor-observer remain as the ‘trusted’ human in the loop? Such topics will be further discussed in a case study looking at signal to competency mapping project undertaken at Vocavio and the insights gleaned from this effort.
