Wing Commander Mark Still
Still joined the RAF in November 1999 after studying Aerospace Engineering at Farnborough. His early service saw him operate both variants of the Tornado in the Air Defence and Ground Attack and Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance roles and he is a graduate of the Qualified Weapons Instructor and Advanced Command and Staff Courses. He has deployed worldwide in multiple training and operational roles including the Quick Reaction Alert commitment in the UK and Falkland Islands, as well as multiple deployments on Operation TELIC, HERRICK, ELLAMY and SHADER.
He has fulfilled operational, Personal Staff Officer and capability aquisiton roles throughout his career. His acquisition portfolio includes key programmes such as the tri-Service UK Military Flying Training System, Defence Operational Training Capability (Air) and most recently the Future Combat Air System Technology Initiative. Still’s current role, assumed in May 2022, is Officer Commanding the ABTC, charged with the delivery of Gladiator as an operational capability.
