Conference Tracks

This year's conference focuses on the overarching theme of "Accelerating the technology of tomorrow into today’s training".  

In an era where rapidly, emerging technologies are disrupting training paradigms, understanding their application across the defence and security enterprise is imperative. Beyond merely keeping pace with innovation, deliberate but swift adoption of these advancements is crucial to secure and maintain operational advantage on the battlefield. From artificial intelligence (AI) simulations to immersive wargaming experiences, advanced technologies will expedite, streamline, and scale training processes, and thereby equip our forces with the skills and strategic perspectives needed for success in modern warfare.    

IT²EC 2025 will explore technologies shaped to redefine training. With a particular focus on compelling, future-leaning case studies, the spotlight is on mastering tomorrow’s technologies to advance and revolutionise today’s training, securing operational superiority.

Human Performance

The Human Performance track explores the nuanced interactions among the data, the human and training automation, and how these contribute to mission readiness in ways that can be observed and measured.

The track welcomes proposals addressing human-machine teaming, competency-based training, performance assessment, training effectiveness analytics, and related topics. 

Technologies and Architectures   

The Technologies and Architectures track uncovers the latest engineering innovations and new technologies set to increase training effectiveness and efficacy, keeping pace with the evolution of modern warfare. The track welcomes proposals related to new approaches and results, varying from wargaming to distributed and live/virtual/constructive training, training interoperability, deployability, training in austere and contested environments, multi-domain training and related topics.   

Emerging Solutions

The Emerging Solutions track focuses on the latest capabilities for transforming military and defence training.

This track welcomes proposals reporting on new work in generative AI, automated tools to streamline and scale training and scenario development, automated coaching and tutoring, synthetic role-players, human-machine interaction, space and cyber training, and related topics.
